Innovet XR Dashboards
The Innovet XR Dashboards project is a pioneering collaboration between Eummena, an EdTech and Premium Moodle Partner company, SupportSquare, a supplier specialising in XR, and Go! Schools, a large network of K12 schools in Flanders, Belgium. The project aims to revolutionise the educational experience by following a framework of learning outcomes established by the Flemish Ministry of Education. This visionary initiative focuses on integrating advanced learning tools into school learning platforms, with a specific emphasis on seamlessly merging the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) and an XR application platform.
Within this innovative ecosystem, the project leverages the power of XR technology to create a truly immersive and engaging learning experience. A key part of this integration is the meticulous capture and management of relevant learning data in an advanced Learning Record Store (LRS). The Learning Record Store (LRS) acts as a central repository for tracking and monitoring student progress and performance so that learning outcomes can be accurately assessed. The data flow involves the XR sending information to the LRS, which is then retrieved by Moodle for further processing. This integration facilitates progress monitoring, assessment of learning outcomes (LOs) and the creation of dashboards, among other functionalities.
The project builds on the extensive "xAPI statements" stored in the LRS and generates dynamic, holistic and actionable dashboards within the Moodle platform. These dashboards provide teachers with valuable insights into student performance, allowing them to adapt their instructional strategies and support students in a more personalised way. In addition, the project introduces a pioneering system of transferable badges, which allows students to demonstrate their acquired competences through digital credentials, directly in the Moodle platform. This innovative feature not only recognises and motivates students' achievements, but also fosters a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Through the seamless integration of XR technology, Moodle LMS, LRS and the badge system, the Innovet XR Dashboards project represents a major leap forward in the field of competency-based learning with the goal of education for mastery. This ecosystem is transforming the education landscape by promoting personalised and engaging learning pathways for learners. By harnessing the full potential of these cutting-edge technologies, the project provides a transformative educational experience that prepares learners in Flanders for the challenges of the future.
